Lab using the metric system today.

EXTRA CREDIT- Bring in up to three colored pencil boxes

Homework-Finish all graphing handouts

C.O.-SWBAT use the metric system conversions and apply to stations of the lab.

Wednesday 8/24

Homework from Tuesday-complete first page of graphing activity.  Extra credit- graph the population change and year to fit exactly in the matrix provided.

Today we're using the metric system and the SI.  SI is used worldwide for scientific purposes (even in the US!)

C.O- SWBAT convert metric measurements and do basic formulas.

Remember to begin studying for the test next Wednesday.

Week 2-Tuesday 8/23

Got our books today, remember that you can keep them at home!

REVIEW-What are the four main reasons for innacurate data collection? 

DATA GRAPHING TODAY 

C.O.  SWBAT accurately read data and graph as a bar and line chart.

Week 2 -Monday 8/22

Monday we'll be reviewing material from week one and finding the solution to the "Rope Problem". WE WILL THEN GET OUR BOOKS AT THE LIBRARY.

At this point you should know:

1) 7 characteristics of an organism.

2) 5 steps of an experiment.

3) General safety guidelines of the class.

Be sure to get a folder to keep handouts in, and notebook by latest Monday.

First lab tomorrow focusing on characteristics of living things.
