Tuesday 9/13

We'll be doing a cell lab today and into Wednesday working in partners.  It's very important to stay focused and on task as you will be using tools, stains, and following detailed instructions.

C.O.  Differentiate between types of cells and how they are classified.

Test will be Friday, please plan ahead for studying.  Definitely keep up with the vocabulary and the function of the organelles.

Homework- Finish organelle diagrams and vocabulary grid by Wednesday.

Monday 9/12

Early release today.

POP QUIZ-- You should know the 3 parts of cell theory. Be able to describe the role of three organelles (you can decide which ones).  Define the two types of cells (prokaryotic and eukaryotic) and know three differences between plant and animal cells. 

C.O.  List the levels of organization from cell to organism.

Lab starts Tuesday, back to school night at 6:00 tonight.

Thursday 9/8

Today we'll be moving into the cell, and cell biology.

C.O.  Determine at least three differences and similarities betweeb eukaryotic, and prokaryotic cells.


Homework- Finish graph and lab questions, they will be checked tomorrow for stamp.  Study for vacabulary quiz.

Wednesday 9/7

Today we'll finish the lab write up and graphing.  I'll be checking homework first thing so please have it done.

Welcome back, I hope everyone had a nice three day weekend.

Today we'll be doing lab on enzyme reactions which will lead into early release day on Wednesday.

C.O.  SWBAT determine if changes in temperature will have effects on the activity of an enzyme.

Homework- Vocabulary and matrix/ enzyme handout completed and checked by Wednesday.  Vocabulary quiz on Thursday.

Thursday we learned of nucleic acids, carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids. 

How can these compounds be matebolized so efficiently?.....  Enzymes.

C.O. describe three roles and processes of enzymes.
