Turn in the write up/fossil sequence assignment at the beginning of class tomorrow.

Thursday 1/12/12

Test today  -  Turn in all material for packet and study guide.  Study guide equal in points to test.  Last day to turn in assignments for partial credit.

Tuesday 1/10/12

Good job on the survivor lab, I hope some of you still don't taste the bitterness of P.T.C paper.  3rd and 6th period tied with 6 survivors each.

Today we're doing notes on support of evolutionary theory, then observing fossils.

C.O.  Understand four primary reasons in support of evolution theory.

There's a test scheduled for Thursday that might get pushed up a day to Friday, and a vocabulary quiz on Wednesday.It's never too early to start studying, I'll be passing out the first review guide tomorrow.

C.O.  Know that VARIATION in a species increases the chance that it will survive in changing environmental conditions.

Friday already!

Short test today, if your study guide is completed at the beginning of class you can use it for the test.  If incomplete this is not an option for you.

You will get the study gide for the final tomorrow, as well as turn in all materials for the unit.

Benchmark is your final and it is worth 90 points so you must study.  If you score a proficient or advanced your grade will automatically go up half letter grade (A- would go up to an A).

Tonight at 7:30 at MJC East campus is a lecture about the Genome of the Neandertal, if you go you will get 30 points extra credit if you complete a one page write up and collect handouts.  I will probably be there, so I hope to see you it will be a a very interesting lecture.

Restriction enxyme lab today (the protein that cuts the DNA at a certain code), presentations of DMO after as time allows.

Test Friday, all work and extra credit due that day.

C.O. Accurately assemble three parts of recombinant DNA model.
