APES 1/14/15

Thursday I will be on campus but in meetings all day.  Bring in your books to continue with chapters 16-17

Chapter 14-15 review questions and diagnostic test (1st period) are due tomorrow.  6th period diagnostic are due Friday.  

"Your World" final project topic(s), and individual focus need to be determined by Tuesday.

Please bring in your soil sample by Thursday from your house, or somewhere that you can remember to locate. This is a graded assignment to get marked off on.

Please read and familiarize yourselves with the articles from the previous post.

Quiz Wednesday on the following:  LD50 toxicity test, photosynthesis, antibiotics breakthroughs, how bacteria obtain resistance to antibiotics, and soils.

APES 1/6/15



Happy New Year!

Please start working on chapters 14-15 for early next week, bring books Thursday.

We'll be doing all the chapters so if you want to continue feel free to work at your own pace, but, turn in two at a time for grading.

Today we learned of LD50 (lethal dose for 50% of a population) of certain chemicals such as caffeine.

12/15/14 APES-Career center Tuesday

The following is the criteria for the presentation starting next week;

Ether alone, or, with a partner research an environmental issue (ex. Ocean trash, over fishing, desertification,glacier melt, poverty etc).  Put together a 5-7 minute presentation of the issue, what it is, what it effects, and human solutions ether currently being done or a well researched and documented proposal you have.  Must be a minimum of ten slides, and well presented with a written outline to turn in.  Please be sure to cite all your information!!!!

We will be starting Wednesday 12/17.  There will be no repeats so once you decide on an issue tell be so I can sign you up for it ASAP.

Please turn in required work as soon as you can,  Thursday latest.  Your lab write up does not need to be typed as long as it's legible.

12/10- Presentation info

I have changed the reviews to only up to chapter 13, however, you do need to send me two chapters of the practice tests form the link above.  You can take them as many times until you pass.
