FRIDAY!!! 9/30/11

Today we'll be watching a short video on photosynthesis, then finishing and trading the vocabulary cards, and doing lesson 9.2.

Vocabulary quiz on Tuesday 16 points, you need to know all the words.

C.O.  Know the similarities and differences of photosynthesis and cellular respiration.

Thursday 9/30/11

Yesterday we learned  how the sun is the ultimate source of energy and that Glucose is the energy of cells.  Today we'll do a lab to observe photosythesis in action, you'll need to be very patient and make accurate observations to get the data for your table and graph.

C.O. Observe and collect data of photosynthesis.

Homework- Finish vocabulary fold - 3 extra credit points if done at the start of class tomorrow

Wednesday 9/28/11


Start Unit 4  Energy in Living Sysytems.  We'll start the class by putting together the packets.
C.O.  Students know usable energy is captured from sunlight by chloroplasts and is stored through the synthesis of sugar from carbon dioxide.

Thursday 9/22

No vocabulary quiz today, changed to Friday!!!

Today we'll finish how substances and fluids cross through cell membrane notes focusing on the sodium-potassium pump.  We will then do a lab with Elodea to see how environmental conditions influence how substances pass through the membrane.

Homework- Finish membrane illustration and questions, stamped at start of class.

C.O.  Know that energy is required for movement against the concentration gradient of a cell membrane.
